Paper Submission Guidelines

Originality, Ethical Standards and Generative AI Policy

Publication Policy & Concurrent Submissions: To maintain the integrity of the proceedings, all submissions must be original work. A paper (or any substantially similar version) cannot have been previously published or accepted by another journal or conference. Furthermore, manuscripts must not be under review elsewhere during the evaluation period.

Previous Work & Theses: If your submission is based on an unpublished Ph.D. dissertation or early-stage results previously presented in a non-archival format, you must disclose this via anonymous footnote within the paper to preserve the double-blind review process.

Plagiarism & Research Conduct: By submitting, authors certify their adherence to the EMCIS Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.

Generative AI Policy
We recognize the role of emerging technologies in research. Authors must adhere to the following regarding Generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT):

Intellectual Ownership: While AI may be used for supplementary tasks (such as language editing or refining style), the core intellectual contribution, analysis, and conclusions must be the original work of the authors.

Mandatory Disclosure: Any use of Generative AI in the research or writing process must be disclosed during the submission process (e.g. in case you use Generative AI, we need to report the following at the end of the paper “I have used Generative AI to assist in some aspect of conducting my research or writing the paper.”

 

Submission steps:

  • Create an “EasyAcademia” account through www.easyacademia.org
  • Activate your account by clicking on the activation link sent to your email.
    Note: Please check your Spam folder if you have not received the email within a few minutes.
  • Log into www.easyacademia.org/emcis2026, using the login details you provided at the beginning.
  • Click on Start a new submission on the top right to enter the submission process.
  • Select an appropriate track from the list.
  • Enter the appropriate information in the Title step.
  • Enter your Abstract text (max length: 400 words) in the following step.
  • Under Authors please input details for each author of the paper. At least one author must be marked for each type of role available (presenter, corresponding).
    Note: Only authors marked as correspondents (and the presenter) will receive updates and information regarding the submission.
  • Under Summary you may check the details of the submission. If you wish to go back to a section in order to change details, just click on the appropriate step on the left.
  • If you are happy with the summary information, please click on Submit Now to finalize the process. A notification e-mail will be sent to the correspondents.
